In Annalan's garden -blanket

Annala weaving mill and designer Maarit Pöör's unique collection of bedspreads pays homage to the heritage of Nordic architecture. Each piece represents the pinnacle of Finnish textile expertise, combining strong design with lasting beauty.

“Our first home was located in Helsinki’s Old Town, next to the Annala garden. It was like a dream. The window opened onto a landscape that lived and changed with the seasons: in winter, a white blanket of snow covered the ground, which came to life in spring, flowers bloomed in summer, and in autumn, an explosion of colours covered everything. The different sides of the wool blanket reflect the different seasons.

Every detail of the old villa in the garden was full of stories. Its elegance sparked in me a lifelong love for Nordic wooden architecture, which is a key element in my designs.

In Annala's garden, the wool blanket shows how beautiful scenery can inspire and how small details can convey a big message.
