Helmi upholstery fabric – three-dimensional bouclé design fabric

Helmi is a natural white wool-polyester fabric featuring a striking pattern created through subtle variations in the woven surface structure. Woven in Finland using jacquard technique, this upholstery and interior fabric combines a three-dimensional texture, soft bouclé yarn, and timeless design.

Helmi’s lively textured surface brings calm visual richness and the softness of natural-inspired materials into interiors. The bouclé-woven pattern creates depth and dimension without strong contrasts.

The fabric is designed by Minna Haapakoski, whose design language combines minimal aesthetics, tactile materials, and modern Nordic character.

Helmi is ideal for upholstery as well as interior textiles such as decorative cushions and bedspreads. The fabric works beautifully in modern homes and public interiors where refined texture and timeless design are appreciated.

Does the pattern look familiar? This same pattern I designed was included in the Essis Collection in 2000. RETRO glass is one of the best-selling artisan glasses in the Essis by Collection range. It's wonderful that the glass now has textiles to accompany it. (Designer Minna Haapakoski)
