The Sumi Stripe fabric is double-sided. One side of the fabric has a white pattern on a black background and the other has a black pattern on a white background. The fabric can be used on both sides.
The fabric is also available in customized colors. Choose the colors from Annala's KEHRÄ color palette or from the Pantone color codes. Minimum order for a custom-made fabric is 20 m.

I am a designer and maker based in Helsinki. I am interested in furniture and textile objects that have a simplistic form and function.
Sumi Stripe is simplistic and nature inspired – which allow a clear spectrum of color, scale, and woven structure suitable for furniture upholstery or textile products for home. With textile, there is a fascination for how yarn qualities are combined with woven structure; how the graphical areas of a pattern become emitted as something three-dimensional with color, pattern, and tactility.
I think there is an understanding that sustainable practices can be achieved with the development/manufacturing/retailing of localized products. Moreover, I think sustainability can be attributed to the behaviors and decisions of consumers. As a designer, sustainability comes down to careful decision making
